2-fluamphetamine (2-FA) is a stimulant drug in the amphetamine family and has been sold as a specialty drug. 2-Fluoroamphetamine differs from 3- and 4 -fluoroamphetamine in the position of the fluorine atoms on the aromatic ring, making them positional isomers of each other. Replacing hydrogen atoms with fluorine atoms in some compounds to facilitate passage of the blood-brain barrier, as desired for central nervous system drugs, is a common practice given by this substitution of grants due to the corresponding increase in lipophilicity.

Anorexia dose (50% inhibition of food intake within 2 hours, given 1 hour in advance) = 15 mg/kg (rats; Oral).

Analgesic dose (50% inhibition of tail-clip reaction) = 20 mg/kg (mouse; ip).

Effect on blood pressure: 0.5 mg/kg (rats; Intravenous) can raise blood pressure by 29 millimeters.
